Dear all, Although this is a known error for cases where a wrong maximum layer is used for input data (cf #283), I received it after making sure this parameter was set correctly for ERA5 data (137). According to the installation test in the user guide, we have successfully installed FLEX_EXTRACT.

Dear FLEXPART utilizator,

I am trying to extract ECMWF windfield with ECMWF data retrieval software V4.1 on ecgate to use in FLEXPART_9.02 for windfiled in 2017.

First, I had some problem to compile source.tar that I fixed by deleted one compiler option. By Now I have one problem to extract the data every 3 hours, the run seems to work for the first day but then the second day, I have the error "ENFILE does not exist", actually, the program did not create some intermediates file as 003 (hour).

Does anyone have a program for data extraction in 2017 or a solution to this problem?

The current ECMWF data pre-processor needs excessive cpu resources; the retrieval of global high-resolution ECMWF data currently only works on the ECMWF HPC system;

ZAMG/Matthias is ready to look into that, and to propose updates;

Standard FLEXPART input data sets (e.g., global 0.5 degrees) could be stored at ECMWF for direct download for the FLEXPART community (ZAMG)
