FLEXPART Developer Meeting February 2023

Major outcomes:

1. Following the move of Andreas Stohl to (​University of Vienna UNIVIE-IMGW) and the establishment of a ​new FLEXPART group there, the responsibility for development will be moved from NILU to IMGW. NILU will take over the responsibility for FlexpartWRF.
2. There will be a new git version control and ticket system at ​https://gitlab.phaidra.org/ (operated by UNIVIE) for FLEXPART and flex_extract. Users will be notified when set up. flexpart.eu will remain as a landing page, with archived content, and tarball downloads. NILU will use its gitlab instance for FlexpartWRF.
3. Version 11, coordinated by Lucie, is expected for Summer 2023. Updates will include moving from MPI to OpenMP, as well as changes in the coordinate system for resolved-scale motion, gravitational settling, radioactive decay, and wet deposition.
4. It is hoped that a training course for v11 can be organised (2024?), but funding is not yet secured.
5. Next meeting planned for February 2024.
