#332 fixed Warning: "TOO COARSE LONGITUDE RESOLUTION" pesei fcheng
Description

Dear FLEXPART community,

I recently used "flex_extract" to prepare ERA5 data for the FLEXPART model. Everything went fine, except I noticed a warning message saying "TOO COARSE LONGITUDE RESOLUTION" while the calc_etadot program was running.

I was downloading 1˚x1˚ hourly ERA5 data. Maybe the spatial resolution is too coarse for hourly resolution? But I don't know exactly why. Can anyone explain this, please? Also, is there any recommended setting of the spatiotemporal resolution of the ERA5 data for the FLEXPART model?

Below is my data-downloading job. Many thanks for your attention. Hope you have a nice day.

Best, Fandy

#331 fixed problem with importing eccodes library in flex_extract_v7.1.3 gance
Description

Hello I can't solve a problem with running the new run_bologna script to extract ecmwf fields using the remote access on my new ATOS home directory.

I got the following error message in the job output message

  MARS retrieve done ...

RuntimeError: Cannot find the ecCodes library

I have checked that eccodes is indeed mounted using python3 -m eccodes selfcheck

The submitscript.template looks correct with
 module load python3
  module load ecmwf-toolbox
  module load ecaccess

Error occurs when processing the flux accumulated fields.

Could you help to solve this problem ?

Best regards

Gerard
